Passed away Thursday July 12, 2012.  Age 80 Years.  Donald Earl Prange was born April 17, 1932 in Saginaw to the late Earl Otto and Mabel Maude (McPherson) Prange.   He married Donna Hare February 14, 1959.  She predeceased him in 1988.  Don served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Leyte carrier.  He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Navy Occupation Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal during his service.  Don was a member of Faith Ev. Lutheran Church in Saginaw.  He had worked at Montgomery Ward and Humpert Fence before retiring as a research specialist at Dow Chemical Co.
Surviving are his son David (Jaclyn) Prange, his daughter DeeAnne (Michael) Manntz, five grandchildren; Sarah, Clayton, Emily, Tyler, and Grace, four great grandchildren; Mark, Austin, Jack, and Sean, his sister Connie (Wayne) Bennett, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral and committal service will take place 11AM Monday July 16, 2012 at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church, 4432 Mackinaw.  Rev. Michael Hahn will officiate.  Interment will take place in Garfield Cemetery.  Family and friends are welcome to gather at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Rd. (S. M-47) on Sunday from 3PM - 6PM and at the church on Monday one hour before the service.  Memorial offerings are suggested to the Michigan Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, Hospice of Michigan, or Lutheran Social Services.
