Passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, December 9, 2011. Age 82 years.
Clara J. Cooper was born August 24, 1929 in Ludington, MI, the second of five siblings to Edwin C. and Linda Lou (Lefler) Cooper. She married Charles E. Stockford on Oct. 23, 1951. He predeceased her Sept. 6, 1993. Mrs. Stockford was an active member of Michigan Ave. United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her son Charles E. Stockford, Jr., her daughters Christina Stott, Kim (and Clara’s “other son” Bob) Ortman, Carol (Matt) Oliver, Linda (Rich) Bodrie, 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, her brother Ronald (Sue) Cooper, her sister Linda (Roland) Halm, her Brother-in-law Wally Boshaw , many nieces, nephews and other loving family members, many dear church friends including a very best friend Jan Brown. Clara was predeceased by her brother Edwin John, and her sister Treva Ann.
Funeral Service will take place 11AM Monday Dec. 12, 2011 at Michigan Ave. United Methodist Church, 1803 W. Michigan Ave. Rev. Duane and Rev. Dorothy Thon will officiate. Friends and family are welcome to gather at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland RD (S-M47) on Sunday Dec. 11th from 12noon to 8PM, and at the church on Monday one hour before the funeral. Memorial offerings are suggested to Cartwright Care Center, or Michigan Ave. Methodist Church.
